Grief is a complex and profound emotional response to the loss of someone or something deeply significant in one's life. Grief is a deeply personal experience, and it affects individuals in unique ways. Emotionally, grief can lead to a wide spectrum of feelings. Profound sadness, longing, emptiness, and even guilt is common.
Over time, with support, introspection, and self-compassion, individuals can find ways to integrate their grief into their lives. Healing doesn't mean forgetting, but rather finding a way to carry the memory of what was lost while moving forward. Our compassionate and understanding therapists will walk with you through this process and help you heal.
Trauma occurs when an individual experiences an event or a series of events that overwhelm their ability to cope, shattering their sense of safety, control, and trust in the world. Emotionally, trauma often leads to a range of intense feelings such as fear, anger, guilt, shame, and sadness. Cognitively, trauma can disrupt thought processes, leading to intrusive memories, nightmares, and a heightened state of vigilance.
Healing from trauma is a complex and involves acknowledging the impact of the trauma, validating one's emotions, and gradually working through the associated pain. Therapy can be instrumental in providing tools to cope with the effects of trauma including processing the trauma in a safe space and utilizing various types of therapy such as CBT (Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy), Mindfulness skills, and working on emotional regulation-based approaches.
